St. Mary's of Nicasio
10x20
oil on canvas

The little town of Nicasio has been there for over one hundred and forty years. The thing that separates this place from other old towns in America is that nothing has changed.  They started with five main buildings and there are still five main buildings. Its like stepping back in time to the old wagon train days. The architecture and farming lifestyles remain the same in this little town in West Marin. Its refreshing after driving up the 101 and seeing one disgusting mega mall after another from Santa Maria to Salinas and Gilroy to Navato. There are places being protected form the inevitable sprawl.
